Job Description
We are looking to hire a CNC Machinist/Set-Up Operator. The CNC Machinist/Set-Up Operator role is a highly visible role at K.L.P. Machining Inc. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to explore new challenges such as tighter tolerances and different dimensional specifications. We're looking for an individual that can work independently and overlook multiple machines.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the set-up and operation of CNC Lathe and Mill machines
- Write and edit programs when needed to meet specified tolerances and surface finishes
- Select, Prepare and Grind all types of tools needed to accurately measure and complete machined parts
- Determine machining requirements from programs, process sheets and blueprints
- Perform final checks using gauges and measuring equipment
- Work at a sustained pace and produce quality of work
- Ensure department housekeeping is maintained
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years related experience
- Able to read and accurately interpret prints and shop drawings
- Ability to set-up and operate CNC Lathes and Mills machines
- Experienced in machining components with tight tolerances such as 5 Microns
- Knowledge of Mastercam is an asset
- Able to determine appropriate precision measuring instruments to analyze components of machined parts to specified tolerances and surface finishes
- Strong desire to learn and grow
- Able to work with minimum supervision
- Must be fluent in English, spoken and written
